From the cosmopolitan buzz of Johannesburg to the untamed wilderness of Kruger National Park, the vibrant beauty of Cape Town, and the raw power of Victoria Falls — this 14-day journey covers the very best of southern Africa. Watch for the Big Five on a full-day 4×4 safari, ride the Cableway up Table Mountain, explore the colourful Bo-Kaap neighbourhood, and stand at the edge of one of the world’s most spectacular waterfalls.
This is a land-only package — international flights are booked separately, giving you full flexibility on airlines, departure cities, and stopovers. Internal flights (Johannesburg to Cape Town, Cape Town to Victoria Falls) are included. Your accommodation is in carefully selected Superior category hotels, with 11 breakfasts and 3 dinners included throughout.
Your Itinerary — Day by Day
Day 1: Departure — Night on Board
Arrive at your departure airport for your flight to Johannesburg. Night on board.
Day 2: Arrive Johannesburg
Welcome to South Africa! Arrive at Johannesburg International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, explore the city’s vibrant neighbourhoods, lively food scene, and cultural hubs at your leisure. Johannesburg is a real cultural melting pot — catch live music, wander through trendy galleries, or simply soak up the atmosphere. Overnight at Courtyard Hotel Sandton.
Day 3: Johannesburg → Mpumalanga → Kruger Region
Breakfast at the hotel, then embark on a scenic drive from Johannesburg to the Kruger region. As you leave the city, the bustling urban landscape gives way to the tranquil Highveld, and the lush flora of the Lowveld signals the start of your safari adventure. The drive takes approximately 5–6 hours with a refreshment stop along the way. Overnight stay at Stille Woning (White River area). Half Pension.
Day 4: Kruger National Park — Full-Day 4×4 Safari
The moment you’ve been waiting for. Rise early for a full-day 4×4 game drive in the southern area of Kruger National Park — the iconic Southern Circle, renowned for lion and rhino sightings. This is your chance to see the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo) in their natural habitat. Enjoy a packed breakfast on the go and stop for lunch at a rest camp inside the park. Return to your lodge for a well-deserved dinner. Overnight at Stille Woning. Half Pension.
Day 5: Kruger National Park — Leisure Day
Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy the day at leisure exploring the stunning natural landscapes around Kruger and White River. Take a guided bush walk, go bird-watching, or simply relax by the pool. For those wanting more wildlife encounters, we recommend the optional Full-Day Safari back in Kruger ($248/pp). Dinner and overnight at Stille Woning. Half Pension.
Day 6: Kruger → Pretoria → Johannesburg → Cape Town
Breakfast, then transfer by road back toward Johannesburg, stopping at the Union Buildings in Pretoria — the official headquarters of the South African government. Continue to Johannesburg airport for your included flight to Cape Town. Arrive in the “Mother City” — one of the most beautiful cities on Earth. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight at The Bantry Bay Aparthotel by Totalstay.
Day 7: Cape Town — Hop On Hop Off Bus & Table Mountain
Breakfast, then explore Cape Town your way with the included Hop On Hop Off bus ticket — over 30 stops covering the city’s top attractions. In the afternoon, take the Cableway up to Table Mountain for one of Africa’s most breathtaking panoramic views. Overnight in Cape Town.
Day 8: Cape Town — Free Day
Breakfast at the hotel. A free day to continue discovering Cape Town at your own pace. Head to one of the world-class museums, explore Cape Point, visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, or take the optional Cape Winelands excursion to Stellenbosch ($218/pp). Overnight in Cape Town.
Day 9: Cape Town — Free Day
Another day to explore. We recommend the optional Cape Peninsula full-day tour ($233/pp) — discover Clifton, Camps Bay, Llandudno, the Twelve Apostles, the penguin colony at Boulder’s Beach, and the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Overnight in Cape Town.
Day 10: Cape Town → Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Breakfast, then transfer to Cape Town airport for your included flight to Victoria Falls. Named after Queen Victoria by explorer David Livingstone, these falls are one of nature’s most extraordinary gifts to southern Africa. Settle into your hotel and explore the surroundings. Consider the optional Sunset Cruise on the Zambezi River ($147/pp) — drinks and snacks included on board. Overnight at Batonka Guest Lodge.
Day 11: Victoria Falls — UNESCO World Heritage Site
Visit the Zimbabwe side of the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls — “The Smoke That Thunders.” Spend time at the various viewpoints to take in the sheer scale of this natural wonder. In the afternoon, consider the Flight of the Angels helicopter experience ($394/pp) for an unforgettable aerial perspective, or a guided tour of the Falls from both the Zambia and Zimbabwe sides. Overnight at Batonka Guest Lodge.
Day 12: Victoria Falls — Leisure Day
Breakfast at the hotel. Spend the day at your leisure, or take the optional full-day excursion to Chobe National Park in Botswana — a safari game drive and river cruise in one of Africa’s most wildlife-rich reserves, famous for its enormous elephant herds. Lunch at a safari lodge included. Passport and Botswana visa required for border crossing. Overnight at Batonka Guest Lodge.
