If you run a business where travel is already part of your clients’ journey — destination weddings you plan, corporate retreats you organize, tours and experiences you host — you’re currently handing the travel revenue to someone else. A Value-Added Agent (VAA) with Phoenix Voyages keeps that revenue in-house: you book the flights, hotels, cruises, and packages your clients were going to buy anyway, and you earn the commission.
Phoenix Voyages is a TICO-registered host travel agency (#50028032) and a member of Travel Leaders Network. Our Independent Travel Advisors sell travel as their core business. Our Value-Added Agents sell travel adjacent to their core business — with the same technology, supplier access, and support behind them, on terms customized to what they actually sell.

Who Is a Value-Added Agent?
A VAA is a professional whose clients travel because of the service they already provide. If any of these sound like you, the model fits:
- Wedding & destination-wedding planners. You already coordinate the venue, the guest list, and the timeline. Book the room blocks, flights, and honeymoon too — and earn on all of it.
- Event & incentive planners. Corporate retreats, conferences, incentive trips. The travel component is often the biggest line item — and the one you currently don’t get paid on.
- Experience providers & tour hosts. Yoga retreats, culinary tours, photography workshops, golf trips. Package the travel around the experience you lead.
- Coaches, creators & community leaders. If your audience travels together — group trips, fan cruises, mastermind retreats — you can be the one who books it.
- Adjacent professionals. Financial planners with retiring clients, real-estate agents with relocating ones, photographers who shoot destination events. If travel follows your work, revenue can follow you.
The core idea: you don’t become a travel agent. You stay a wedding planner, an event planner, an experience host — and add a compliant, commission-earning travel arm to the business you already run.
How It Works — Compliant From Day One
In Ontario, selling travel services requires TICO registration. As a Phoenix Voyages VAA, you operate under our registration (#50028032) — the same umbrella our Independent Travel Advisors use. That means:
- No separate registration or bonding for you. Phoenix carries the TICO registration, trust accounting, and Errors & Omissions coverage under our umbrella policy.
- Consumer protection built in. Your clients’ travel purchases are covered by the Ontario Travel Industry Compensation Fund, just as with any TICO-registered agency.
- Training included. Our First Flight onboarding program covers exactly what you need to book travel confidently — including TICO certification sponsorship for Ontario-based VAAs.
- You invoice your core services as you always have. Wedding planning fees, event production, experience tickets — that’s your business, on your terms. The travel component runs through Phoenix.
The Technology: Tailfire, Built In-House
Phoenix runs on Tailfire, our proprietary back-office platform — not a third-party system with a logo swap. For a VAA, that means the travel side of your business runs itself:
- Client proposals that close. Build polished, branded travel proposals in minutes — itinerary, pricing, photos — and send a link your client can approve from their phone.
- Booking & payments handled. Secure card vault, supplier payments, invoicing, and commission tracking — all inside one platform.
- A client travel portal. Your clients get a professional portal for documents, passports, and trip details — under your name.
- AI-powered Leads Manager. Inquiries from your referral links are attributed to you automatically. Phoenix is the only Canadian host running an AI lead-distribution layer in production.
- Marketing Genie. Generate on-brand marketing content for your travel offerings without hiring a designer.
Terms — Same Transparent Structure, Customized to Your Offerings
VAAs join on the same transparent economics as our Independent Travel Advisors — $299 one-time Ignite fee, $28.95/month flat, no annual fee, no revenue minimums, month-to-month — with the setup customized to your needs and offerings. A destination-wedding planner needs group-block tooling and room-list management; a retreat host needs package pricing and payment plans. We configure your Tailfire workspace, supplier access, and commission structure around what you actually sell — talk to us and we’ll design it together.
Keep the Travel Revenue You’re Already Creating
Your clients trust you with the biggest moments of their lives. Booking their travel is a natural extension — and now it pays you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need my own TICO registration to sell travel as a VAA?
No. You operate under Phoenix Voyages’ TICO registration (#50028032). Selling travel in Ontario outside a registered agency is not permitted — the VAA model exists precisely so professionals like you can sell travel compliantly without carrying your own registration.
Do I have to stop or change my existing business?
No — that’s the point. Your core business (planning, events, experiences) continues exactly as it is, invoiced by you as always. Only the travel bookings run through Phoenix, and you earn commission on them.
How is a VAA different from an Independent Travel Advisor?
An ITA’s core business is selling travel. A VAA sells travel adjacent to another business. The infrastructure is the same — Tailfire, supplier access, training, support — but a VAA’s setup is customized around their existing offerings rather than a full-time travel practice.
What does it cost?
The same transparent structure as our ITAs: $299 one-time setup, $28.95/month flat, no annual fee, no revenue minimums, month-to-month with no lock-in. Commission structure is customized to your offerings — discussed when we design your setup.
I’m not in Ontario. Can I still be a VAA?
In most provinces, yes — reach out and we’ll confirm the licensing picture for your province. (British Columbia has its own consumer-protection licensing regime; BC residents should contact us before applying.)
